New commander takes reigns of 161st MXG

The 161st Maintenance Group welcomed a new commander during an assumption of command ceremony here Sept. 8, 2012.

In a ceremony presided over by Col. Gary Brewer, 161st Air Refueling Wing commander, Col. Joseph Wilson assumed command of the 161st Maintenance Group.

Colonel Wilson previously served as Air National Guard Advisor to the commander, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.

He has served in numerous assignments in maintenance and logistics as well as command positions at the squadron and deputy group level.

"I'm excited about (this assignment)," Colonel Wilson said. "The 161st Maintenance Group is the best tanker unit in the Guard and I'm excited about the people I've met and where we are headed."
