My last three commentaries have dealt with situations in which one may need help dealing with some of life's many problems.  I have encouraged anyone who is struggling to reach out and find help from friends, family, help hotlines, DPH and the chaplain office.  All of which may provide counseling to help you deal with the events in your life.  In this article I wanted to share more from my perspective as your chaplain.

From the spiritual aspect of life, I want you to know that God wants to help you and can provide rest from the trials of life.  Recently, I heard a message from Matthew 11:28-30 and was reminded how God encourages those who are going through stress to come to Him for rest.  If you are feeling overwhelmed by finances, personal relationships or work issues God desires for you to turn to Him for comfort.

God wants to help us as we go through difficult situations.  In life we are faced with various situations. Whether you are struggling with parenting issues, decisions about your career, relationship issues, loneliness or health issues, God offers rest for the weary.

Life does come with its unique pressures and struggles.  How and if you choose to deal with your situation is ultimately your choice.  As I write this commentary I am reminded of many times in life where I have felt the weight of different life issues.  I am thankful for the friends and family who have been there for me to discuss those issues and even more thankful that I could go to God for rest and comfort.

If you would to discuss this topic or other issues, please feel free to contact me.
