GOLDWATER AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Ariz. --
In less than two weeks the brackets will be filled out and workplace production will diminish on Thursdays and Fridays in March. Why, you ask? March Madness will be here promising thrills of overtime victories and the agony of ending a season of basketball.
Certainly in the weeks to follow some Cinderella team will upset a ranked favorite and a buzzer shot will gain victory and notoriety for a little known player. Another certain thing is that all 86 teams will be practicing and preparing for the challenges they will face on the court. Each team in the tournament desires to pull off a string of victories and be crowned champions in Glendale, Ariz. on April 3, but only one team will succeed in that endeavor.
As humans, we must prepare for the challenges and trials that life will bring us. Unlike a sports tournament, in life, we can all be winners. How do you prepare for challenges in life? What are the things you do in life that help build resilience and prepare you for challenges? As a Christian, I prepare by spending time in prayer and reading God's Word. I also enjoy spending time with my family, reading helpful books, watching movies and working out. Each of these things helps me to build relationships and strengthen myself in my efforts to build resilience so that I am ready for life’s challenges. Take the time to train and fortify yourself for the challenges ahead because there is no bigger game than to live a productive and successful life.
