Copper 5 was the call sign for a Boeing KC-135A Stratotanker aerial refueling jet from the 161st that was involved in a mid-air collision with a civilian plane, killing the four person aircrew on Mar. 13, 1982.

Plough donated to the wing during 35th Annual Copper 5 Memorial at the Goldwater Air National Guard Base, Mar. 13. Plough was the boom operator and crew member aboard Copper 5, Boeing KC-135A Stratotanker aerial refueling jet from the 161st that was involved in a mid-air collision with a civilian plane, killing the four person aircrew on Mar. 13, 1982.
