Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention down day
Jason Schechterle accepts a unit coin from Col. Gary Brewer, Jr., 161st Air Refueling Wing commander, in Phoenix. Schechterle shared his life experiences with Guardsmen from the 161ARW as part of the Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention down day during September’s unit training assembly, Sept. 12, 2015. Schechterle was serving as a City of Phoenix police officer when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle traveling at more than 100 miles an hour, causing his vehicle to burst into flames. The R3SP program’s primary mission is to ensure Guardsmen are properly trained in resilience and suicide prevention skills. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt Michael Matkin)
